DEL MAR - The 2008 summer thoroughbred racing season here ended the way the seven from 1996 through 2002 had.

Ridden by Tyler Baze, Midshipman made a three-wide sweep around the final turn and made up two lengths on Coronet of a Baron from there to the wire for a nose victory in the $250,000 Futurity
